What are NBN Service Classes?
The Service Class categorises how NBN internet services are delivered to your location. It helps the network provider define the stages of installation completed at your address. While knowing your class may not be crucial, understanding it can be beneficial for grasping the internet delivery process to your premises.
Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)
- Service Class 0: Future FTTP availability, pre-sign available.
- Service Class 1: FTTP serviceable, no equipment installed yet.
- Service Class 2: Ready to connect, external devices installed.
- Service Class 3: Fully installed, serviceable within 1-5 days.
Fixed Wireless (FW)
- Service Class 4: Planned FW availability, pre-sign available.
- Service Class 5: FW serviceable, no equipment installed yet.
- Service Class 6: Ready to connect, antenna and NTD installed.
Satellite
- Service Class 7: Planned Satellite availability, pre-sign available.
- Service Class 8: Satellite serviceable, no equipment installed yet.
- Service Class 9: Ready to connect, antenna and NBN device installed.
Fibre to the Node (FTTN)
- Service Class 10: Planned FTTN availability, pre-sign available.
- Service Class 11: Ready to connect with lead-in cabling needed.
- Service Class 12: Ready with jumper cabling needed.
- Service Class 13: Fully ready for activation within 1-5 days.
Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC)
- Service Class 20: Future HFC availability, pre-sign available.
- Service Class 21: Ready with lead-in cabling needed.
- Service Class 22: Ready with network device and wall point needed.
- Service Class 23: Ready with possible network device installation needed.
- Service Class 24: Fully ready for activation within 1-5 days.
Fibre to the Curb (FTTC)
- Service Class 30: Future FTTC availability, pre-sign available.
- Service Class 31: Ready with lead-in cabling needed.
- Service Class 32: Ready with connection to distribution point needed.
- Service Class 33: Ready with possible network device installation needed.
- Service Class 34: Fully ready for activation within 1-5 days.
